## What it is and how it works

In GA4, it is the complement of the engagement rate. The time threshold for engaged sessions is configurable; it should not be presented as a universal fixed limit. Nor is it equivalent to the bounce rate in Universal Analytics. A session with no recorded engagement may have answered a query, so the percentage needs context.
