## What it is and how it works

It is a kind of heatmap focused on clicks. It is overlaid on the page itself and concentrates colour where interaction is highest, which helps reveal which calls to action are used, which elements are ignored and where people click on things that are not interactive, a common sign of confusion.

It is best read alongside other sources such as scroll maps, session recordings or usability testing, because it shows where interaction happens but not why. Behaviour analytics tools such as Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity offer it today; the older in-page reports built into Google Analytics no longer exist.
