# Google Trends

## What it is and how it works

It does not give absolute volumes but a relative index from 0 to 100 based on a sample of searches: 100 marks peak interest for the chosen period and location. It lets users compare several terms, see regional differences, explore related queries and spot rising topics.

It is useful for identifying seasonality, comparing interest in brands or concepts and guiding content, but it does not replace keyword tools that estimate volumes. Because the index is relative, two charts cannot be compared directly if the period or region changes.
