## What it is and how it works

The relationship between investment and visits has time and attribution limits: stopping a campaign does not demonstrate that all its effects end immediately. It should be distinguished from [organic](https://www.zorraquino.com/en/dictionary/digital-marketing/organic-traffic.html), referral and direct traffic, the last of which is also used for visits with no identifiable source. Tagging helps interpret provenance without resolving every measurement issue on its own.
