## What it is and how it works

The listing shows details such as address, opening hours, phone number, website, photos, products or services, and collects customer reviews and ratings, which the business can reply to. It appears in local searches and on Maps, so it plays a central role in local SEO.

The service has been renamed several times: Google Places, Google+ Local, Google My Business from 2014 and Google Business Profile since 2021\. Listings are now edited directly from Search or Maps. Its integration with Google Plus ended when that social network closed.
