Born in science fiction, transhumanism is based on the idea of improving human beings. Wearables, health implants and smart accessories are proof that most people are willing to let technology come closer, be implanted in the body and enhance our capabilities. More and more technological developments suggest that the natural limits of the human body can be overcome. No procedure in the human body seems untouchable any more; even creating a completely new life no longer seems so far off, thanks to the latest discoveries in genetics, among other fields. ## Cases 01 / 05 Zorraquino spotlights 1. 01 The power of technology to enhance human capabilities is outstripping science fiction and coming closer than ever to reality. 2. 02 The need to reduce friction between interfaces and use more natural ways of interacting with technology is a mission that is already taking a back seat to the advances in human health. 3. 03 With prosthetic devices, electronic devices inserted into the body and the selective use of small, partly automated robots or engineered microorganisms in the blood vessels, no procedure in the human body seems untouchable any more. ## More on the trend ### References - [Frog Believes The Future Of Headphones Will Be Augmented Audio Experiences](https://www.forbes.com/sites/curtissilver/2019/08/22/frog-believes-the-future-of-headphones-will-be-augmented-audio-experiences/) - [Accelerating Human Reaction Using Electrical Muscle Stimulation Without Compromising Agency](https://www.sonycsl.co.jp/tokyo/7277/) - [Voice guidance in Maps, built for people with impaired vision](https://www.blog.google/products/maps/better-maps-for-people-with-vision-impairments/) - [A Biomimetic Soft Lens Controlled by Electrooculographic Signal](https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/adfm.201903762) - [Magnetic skin ensures the force is with you](https://discovery.kaust.edu.sa/en/article/882/magnetic-skin-ensures-the-force-is-with-you) - [Posthuman Habitats](http://www.foreground-da.com/posthuman-habitats) - [Smart exoskeletons for an industry in motion](https://www.germanbionic.com/) - [Die einzige Baufinanzierung, die unter die Haut geht.](https://www.schluesselkowski.de/) - [Creepy artificial ‘human skin’ phone case lets you pinch, tickle and slap your mobile to control it](https://www.thesun.co.uk/tech/10186368/creepy-artificial-human-skin-phone-case/) Pages 29–53 of the report [![AR & VR Shopping: Augmented and virtual reality support decision-making.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/0w1142l8/production/84a8b6716f2bdd160de183516be75d10dd5334ff-1600x1024.webp/ar-vr-shopping-augmented-and-virtual-reality-support-decision-making.webp?w=1600&fit=max&auto=format&q=85)](https://www.zorraquino.com/en/trends/digital-trends-2020/ar-vr-shopping) Next trend · 03 [AR & VR Shopping](https://www.zorraquino.com/en/trends/digital-trends-2020/ar-vr-shopping)
