CPI (cost per install, cost per interaction)

CPI can mean cost per install or cost per interaction, depending on the advertising context. The acronym needs to be accompanied by the action it measures

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

The cost is calculated by relating spend to recorded actions, while a buying model specifies which event triggers payment. These may or may not be the same. Campaign comparisons need consistent definitions of the action, attribution and period; using the same acronym does not make the figures comparable.
