CDN

A CDN is a distribution network that serves content from locations close to users according to its delivery rules

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

It can reduce latency and load on the origin, especially for cacheable resources. Its configuration should cover updates, access and failures. Using a CDN does not on its own fix oversized images or slow application logic.
