Context window

The context window is the amount of information a model can take into account within an interaction, according to its processing limits

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

It can include instructions, conversation, documents and other data. Its size is usually expressed in tokens. A large window does not guarantee that all the information is used correctly: the relevance and organisation of the context still matter.
