Fintech

Fintech describes the use of technology in financial products, services and processes. It can cover payments, management, analysis or infrastructure for other organisations

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

The term does not identify a single activity or regulatory authorisation. A company that supplies software and one that provides a financial service may have different roles and obligations. Understanding a proposition requires explaining what it does, for whom and with what responsibilities, without inferring its regulatory status from the fintech label.
