Back-end development

Back-end development builds the part of an application that processes requests, applies rules and manages data outside the user interface. It can include services, databases and integrations

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

It uses a range of languages and environments. Node.js, for example, is a JavaScript runtime, not a separate language. The back end must validate incoming operations, control permissions and handle errors. Hiding or disabling an action in the interface does not protect the system on its own.
