Knowledge representation

Knowledge representation organises information so that a system can use it to reason, relate concepts or answer queries. It may use rules, graphs, symbolic structures or learned representations

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

It is not inherently opposed to machine learning: the two approaches can be combined. The choice depends on the relationships that need to be preserved and how the information will be used. A useful representation needs clear boundaries and mechanisms for updating knowledge that changes.
