Moore’s law
Moore's law is an observation about how the number of components integrated into circuits has evolved over time. It has been used as a reference for explaining advances in microelectronics
What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.
What it is and how it works
It is not a physical law and does not guarantee that the performance, price or capacity of every system will follow the same progression. Useful computing power also depends on architecture, energy consumption and software. Its value in the dictionary is historical and conceptual, not an automatic prediction of future capabilities.
