Acronym of the English expression peer-to-peer (peer-to-peer) that designates a computer network of the relationship between equals, in which any of the members can alternatively take the place of client or provider in the exchange process.

In practice, P2P networks have been widely used by Internet users to exchange files such as music, videos, movies, series, applications ... although this is not their only function.
