Points (pt)
Interface points are logical units used on Apple platforms to organise sizes and positions. They relate to physical pixels through scale factors
What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.
What it is and how it works
They allow design without treating every screen pixel as an independent unit of composition. They should not be confused with typographic points used in print simply because they share a name. Scaling does not replace testing of legibility, text size and interaction space on real devices and settings.
