What it is and how it works
On a blog it is an entry: an article with a title and body that may include text, images, video or audio and is shown in reverse chronological order. By extension, any update on social networks such as Instagram, LinkedIn or Facebook is called a post, and X now officially uses the word for what used to be called tweets.
On social media it is worth distinguishing a post, which stays on the profile, from ephemeral formats such as stories.
