What it is and how it works
They let site owners verify ownership, submit sitemaps, review crawling or indexing errors, see the queries a site appears for, check inbound links and receive security or manual action alerts. They usually come with guidance on each search engine’s recommendations.
Google’s was called Google Webmaster Tools until 2015, when it became Google Search Console; Bing offers Bing Webmaster Tools, and other search engines such as Yandex have their own. They do not improve rankings on their own: they provide diagnostics for technical and content decisions.
