Lateral navigation
Lateral navigation allows movement between sections or destinations at the same level of a structure. It may use tabs, bars or other controls according to the space available
What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.
What it is and how it works
The choice should make the current section clear and avoid unexpected changes of context. It does not require every destination to be shown on each screen. An understandable structure maintains access to what is needed without turning navigation into a list of every page in the system.
