Conversion factor (conversion rate)
Conversion factor is an uncommon Spanish label for conversion rate, the percentage of visits or users who complete an action defined as a goal
What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.
What it is and how it works
It is calculated by dividing the number of conversions by the number of visits, sessions or users, depending on the chosen basis, and multiplying by one hundred. It helps assess how effective a site, page or campaign is and compare periods or variants.
Improving it is not only about attracting more traffic: a clear offer, usability, speed, trust and the match between ad and landing page matter as much as advertising. Outside marketing, “conversion factor” mainly means the number used to convert one unit of measurement into another, which can cause confusion.
