Cost per click

Cost per click, or CPC, expresses the average cost of each click a campaign receives

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

It is calculated by dividing spend by clicks. It can also name a bidding or buying model. A low CPC does not guarantee profitability: what matters is what happens after the click and whether the audience fits the offering.
