Pop-up shop

A pop-up shop is a temporary retail space that a brand opens for a limited period, from days to months, to sell, showcase products or create an experience

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

It is used to test markets or locations without a long-term commitment, launch collections, support seasonal campaigns or bring mainly online brands into the physical world. Its short-lived nature creates a sense of occasion and gets people talking.

It may be set up in empty units, shopping centres, shipping containers or spaces shared with other brands. Beyond sales, it is often assessed on awareness, direct contact with customers and the insights it provides.
