Content curation

Content curation is the practice of finding, selecting, contextualising and sharing third-party content that is relevant to a specific audience

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

Curating means more than forwarding links: it involves filtering a large volume of information, choosing what adds value, organising it and adding a perspective, a summary or an explanation of why it matters. It is common in newsletters, social media profiles and resource sections of websites.

It complements original content within a content marketing strategy and helps build judgement and authority on a subject. It requires crediting and linking sources and respecting copyright; reproducing someone else's content in full is not curation.
