Google rich snippets

Google rich snippets are expanded search results that show extra information, such as ratings, prices or cooking times, on the results page

What it is and how it works

Google generates these elements from structured data that sites add to their code, usually using the Schema.org vocabulary. Google now officially calls them “rich results” and documents which types it supports and how to validate them with the Rich Results Test and Search Console.

Correct mark-up does not guarantee an enhanced result: Google decides when to show one and has retired or restricted some types, such as FAQ and how-to results. The concept is the same as the “rich result” entry.
