What it is and how it works
People who describe themselves this way often add the acronym LION to their profile or headline to signal that they are open to connecting. They seek visibility, reach for their posts or access to more profiles in search, which is common in recruitment, sales and consultancy.
The practice has limits: LinkedIn sets a maximum number of first-degree connections, restricts mass invitations and recommends connecting with people you trust. A very large but loosely related network can also fill the feed with irrelevant content and expose users to fake profiles or scams. It is not an official platform feature but a label adopted by users themselves.
