Soft bounce

A soft bounce is an email delivery failure classified as temporary by the system recording it. It may relate to mailbox capacity, availability or receiving limits

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

Retries should follow sending rules and retain response codes. If the problem persists, suspending messages may be appropriate, but this does not automatically make the underlying cause permanent. Maintaining traceability helps resolve incidents without retrying indefinitely or removing necessary information about the restriction.
