Keyword stuffing

Keyword stuffing is a black hat SEO technique that involves repeating keywords excessively and unnaturally on a page in an attempt to make it rank

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

It may appear in visible text, in meaningless lists of terms, in titles, meta tags, alt text or hidden content. It was common when search engines gave great weight to word frequency; today systems detect the pattern, and Google lists it among practices that breach its spam policies.

Besides the risk of losing visibility, it harms readability and people’s trust. The recommended approach is to write naturally, cover the topic well and use variants and related terms, without chasing a particular keyword density.
