Money mule
A money mule is a person whose account or involvement is used to receive and transfer money linked to fraud. They may be recruited through a false job offer or an apparently legitimate request

What it is and how it works
Instructions to move money on behalf of others call for caution. If a transaction appears suspicious, the response is to stop further transfers and contact the financial institution through an official channel. The term describes a role in the operation; it does not, by itself, establish knowledge, intent or legal responsibility.
