What it is and how it works
The term blends “web” and “seminar”. It differs from a work video call in that it usually has one or more speakers and a larger audience whose role is mainly to listen. It is often broadcast live and then made available as a recording.
Webinars are used for training, product presentations and B2B content marketing, where prior registration helps capture contacts interested in a topic. Their value depends mostly on the usefulness of the content and the quality of the hosting, not on the format itself.
