What is a token?

Unit of value issued privately which, within the field of blockchains, will serve for whatever purpose the person or organization who/which designed it and developed it wishes. Tokens may be acquired through the blockchain and used to obtain goods and services within a private network. Thus, a token can be used to grant a right, to pay for work, or as a point of access to additional services, amongst other possibilities. Furthermore, a token is also any alphanumeric chain representing an entry in the decentralized database of blockchain technology.
