Webhook

A webhook sends a notification to another system when a defined event occurs

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

It makes it possible to trigger integrations without continually checking for updates. Its implementation must handle authenticity, retries and duplicate events. Receiving a notification does not guarantee that the subsequent operation has completed successfully.
