What is a content network?

An online community of common thematic websites associated with an intermediary company (generally the advertising program for a search engine) whereby the same commercial message is distributed to each.

This type of web grouping is essential for contextual advertising, as it offers advertisers access to a niche segment of the public, the regular users of such pages, enabling them to reach such users with advertising messages appropriate to the content they habitually consume.

Google AdSense, comprised of hundreds of thousands of websites and blogs, is the largest content network on the web.
