PPA (pay per action)

PPA, or pay per action, is a purchasing model in which payment is made for an agreed action, such as a registration or purchase. It requires definitions of validity, attribution and counting conditions

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

It is related to CPA, which is also used to name purchasing models but may simply refer to the cost-per-action metric. The distinction matters: calculating a CPA does not imply that the publisher or platform billed for that action. PPL and PPS specify particular types of outcome.
