Pay per lead (PPL)

Pay per lead is a purchasing model that pays for acquiring contacts defined as valid under an agreement. The payment condition should specify which data and actions constitute a lead

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

A contact valid for billing is not necessarily a sales-qualified opportunity. Validity, duplicates and commercial fit need to be distinguished. Cost per lead, by contrast, is a metric that can be calculated even when the campaign is purchased by clicks, impressions or another model.
