Desk research

Desk research analyses existing information to understand a topic and guide decisions or further research

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

It can draw on studies, internal data, publications and public documentation. It should assess the authorship, date, method and relevance of each source. Collecting links is not a synthesis: the result should connect evidence, contradictions and questions that remain open.
