Converged media

Converged media describes the coordination of owned, paid and earned media within a strategy. A piece of content may be distributed through an owned channel, receive paid promotion and generate third-party references

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

The focus is on how owned media is coordinated with paid distribution and earned coverage, and how their contribution is measured. Their differences do not disappear: editorial control and commercial relationships remain distinct. Nor is it equivalent to an omnichannel approach, which focuses on continuity of experience across channels.
