Pagejacking

Pagejacking is the copying of a page to exploit its appearance or content and divert visits to another destination. It can be used for deceptive purposes

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

It should be distinguished from technical duplication, quotation or authorised syndication. Not all repeated content receives a penalty: search engines also select versions among duplicates. Where impersonation or abuse occurs, evidence of the content and its purpose matters, alongside possible routes for making a complaint.
