Progressive disclosure presents information or controls when they are needed, avoiding showing all the complexity at once
What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.
What it is and how it works
It helps people concentrate on the current task. It should keep essential options visible and allow additional ones to be discovered. Hiding information that is important for making a decision is not a good application of this pattern.
