Cross-device identification

Cross-device identification attempts to connect interactions recorded on different devices. It may use account identifiers or other methods of association

What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.

What it is and how it works

A shared account does not necessarily represent one person, and one person may use several accounts. Results therefore need to be interpreted in light of the method and its coverage. Joining records requires error controls and respect for the conditions governing data use; it cannot reconstruct every audience journey with certainty.
