Build-measure-learn
Build-measure-learn is an experimentation loop that turns a business hypothesis into a test and uses its results to make decisions
What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.
What it is and how it works
Before building, it is worth defining what you want to learn, what evidence would be sufficient and how it will be measured. The result may lead to continuing, modifying or abandoning the hypothesis. Speed adds value when it improves the quality of learning.

Variants and linked concepts
- Waste. In lean approaches, waste is effort that adds no value or relevant learning. Identifying it requires attention to the context of the work.
- Continuous improvement process. Continuous improvement introduces and evaluates changes on an ongoing basis. It needs objectives and evidence of their effect.
- Release early, release often. Releasing early and often can speed up learning when versions allow useful evaluation and maintain suitable conditions of use.
