Business model canvas
The business model canvas is a nine-block template for representing how a business creates, delivers and captures value
What it means, how it is used and where it comes up, with its related concepts.
What it is and how it works
The blocks describe customer segments, value proposition, channels, relationships, revenue, resources, activities, partners and costs. It helps detect dependencies and compare alternatives. It is filled in with hypotheses that need testing: writing a proposition on the canvas does not prove that demand exists. The tool was developed by Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur and popularised by Strategyzer.
