Reality can wait

The arrival of COVID forced us to stop, put everything on hold and connect with ourselves as never before. A lesson society has not wanted to leave behind and holds on to tightly in order to feel more alive than ever.

Each of us is the best example. Routine takes over every aspect of our lives, and the daily whirlwind of work, commitments, stress and chores that wears us down leads to the need to escape, take a breath and reconnect with ourselves so as not to lose our way.

Although we are undeniably social, human beings seek, in their most intimate side, a space of refuge and retreat in which to simply be themselves. Escaping daily worries mentally, even for a few minutes, is now one more task in many people's routine.

Small gestures thus emerge that bring serenity and stability and help channel anxiety more constructively. Places, moments and even objects that become personal refuges allow us to feel present and help us face uncertainty.

This protection can come from different actions, elements and spaces. Physical or not. A corner to read in without distraction, a special object that makes us feel at home, a walk alone, repetitive and mechanical tasks that help us concentrate… Anything that comforts us and reminds us that, at least for that moment, reality can wait.
