What is Apple?

Apple Computer Inc. is a technology corporation founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, and its iconic logo is an apple. Apple, which designs, produces, and markets electronic equipment and software, is considered to be one of the most innovative companies in the world, with impressive growth in recent years making it a business template that is a benchmark around the world. In August 2018, the company became the first business to have a market valuation of one trillion (million million) dollars on the U.S. Stock Exchange.

Behind Apple is the world’s first personal computer, the popular Mac. Furthermore, the company has led the field in graphical development applications and it has revolutionized the music industry with the iPod and iTunes, its online store for legal music downloads.

The pillars of Apple – in addition to Steve Jobs himself, the charismatic founder – have been the importance of design in its products, with their characteristic minimalism and ease of use; a legion of users who are loyal to the brand; and aspirational marketing.

Its star products include the iPhone mobile phone, the iPad tablet, the Macintosh computer, the iPod digital music player, and the Apple Watch smartwatch. In terms of software, it has launched the Mac OS X and iOS operating systems onto the market, the iTunes browser for multimedia content, the Final Cut Studio professional video-editing suite, or the Safari web browser, among others.
