What is brand falsification?

Misbranding practice dedicated to exploiting the reputation of other brands, by stealing their identity for the commercialisation of products with a different origin and a level of quality generally inferior to the originals. The use of identification elements such as symbols, names, word marks or terms that do not belong to you is penalised by the law, given that it may cause a dilution of the original brand. Therefore, to ensure the exclusive ownership of a brand's commercial exploitation rights or its corresponding graphic mark, it is essential it the brand be registered with the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office.
