What is personal branding?

Individual branding application, generally used as a professional means of promotion. As with other commercial brands, the objective of this practice is to generate value by adding a certain degree of prestige to the subject's image, that is separate from its knowledge, abilities and capabilities, by generally exploiting its peculiarities to achieve differentiation.

As observed daily on social networking sites, personal branding creates greater individual exposure, more susceptible to the judgement and opinions of others. To protect against this vulnerability, some celebrities opt to register their own, clearly discernible name, as a registered trademark.
