What is darknet?

Hidden area of the internet that cannot be reached via conventional browsers, requiring instead the use of another kind of software. The most widespread is TOR (The Onion Router), which allows anonymous browsing by concealing the IP address being used to access the internet. The darknet is used mostly for unlawful content, such as child pornography, hacker services, hitmen, gambling, and trading in drugs and weapons, and as such accessing the darknet is a criminal offence in some countries, but not in Spain. It should not be confused with the deep internet.
