What is video on-demand?

System offering users the possibility of legally accessing multimedia content (series, films, documentaries, programmes...) at the precise moment of their choosing. The content can be viewed directly by streaming to a device (when there is an internet connection), or by downloading and then watching the copy that has been stored. This service is offered by platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Filmin, or HBO, among others. There are four kinds of video on demand: transactional VOD, subscription (SVOD), Ad-supported (AVOD), and catch-up TV.
