What is a heatmap?

Graphic report which shows what parts of a web page attract the most attention from users who visit it, through a colour-coding system which provides a visual representation of those areas where visitors interact the most, whether by clicking, mousing-over, or browsing with the highest frequency. The aim of a heatmap is to extract useful information on the behaviour of the users of a website, such as ascertaining which elements are most visible or identifying the best places to insert advertisements.
