What is storyboard?

In the audiovisual world, a storyboard is a series of sketches or drawings in a sequence which act as a guide to understanding the story that is going to be told and following the narrative before recording or creating an animation.

In user experience, the term storyboard is also used to refer to a prototyping technique that represents how a product or service will function in the form of a comic-book strip. The storyboard is set out in the form of a model or mock-up which clarifies the navigation and the interaction with users by way of web pages, screens, or other interfaces. The advantage of a storyboard in prototyping is that it is fast and requires no investment. It is particularly recommended in cases where the new design involves changes to the actions to be carried out by the users.
